A Little About Us...

CADFHS was founded in 1989 and is based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. The Society covers the area of North East Derbyshire previously known as the Scarsdale Hundred.

We aim to assist and encourage the study of Family History and promote research into genealogical material.

Our organization is run by volunteers. However, our committee forms a nucleus of local knowledge as well as providing an advisory group for members on how to pursue research.

The CADFHS Library includes exchanged magazines from other family history societies both in the UK and abroad as well as reference books and publications from the Federation of Family History Societies.

We welcome your comments and contributions…

Chesterfield & District Family History Society aims to be one of the country’s leading and most forward thinking ‘Family History Societies’.

Providing a strong base to enable our members to develop and grow as ‘Family History’ researchers.

We aim to foster a positive experience and environment, through creative and innovative, and related services for our members.
